Adventure!

Time in Jeannieland has reminded me to go out and have adventures. The most recent:
Vegas for International Elvis Wedding;
Washington DC for Smithsonian, family time and helping Rex;
Sonoma (Windsor) to see the gang, bake scones for Pony et al, play a little bridge. Drove back via 116, which had many beautiful scenes, the California Carnivore nursery, http://www.californiacarnivores.com/, an inspiring place for me. Saw Chris and Lisa's new home, a Storybook Cottage in the Berkeley Hills with some Craftsman touches, very very nice.
Went to the Pork Explosion at Xtal and Matt's. Oy! Lotta Pig!
After touring Filoli (finally) with Andrew's Birthday Caste, wandered down the coast road (Highway 1) to Santa Cruz to see Shakespeare Santa Cruz's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" in the theater glen. Recommended; an interesting edit, cutting out the violent fight scene but echoing Puck's final words well. The physical acrobatics of the fairies was great but Philip was better as Puck, and I could really have done without the bad fairy bellydancing (my standards are warped, of course). Some excellent physical ribaldry in a subtle way, and of course the grove is always magical as long as you aren't freezing.
Wound mostly healed.
Need to go to the beach and cook; hit the boardwalk, do a moonlit steam train ride, make more pickles (but not deep fry them!), see the gang in Sonoma...so much to do! Go to Hearst Castle, get the bike fixed and ride, visit Conrad Good...
