Not too deep, just places/spaces/faces I'd like to be/have been/work towards being.
1. The orchard has apples, pears, walnuts. Planted among it are peas, potatoes, onions, flowers, cukes, tomatoes. There's a corn/bean/pumpkin patch, and a garden for delight: Towering sunflowers, a bed of lavender, a thyme/rosemary throne. Rambles of nasturtiums, and a pond with turtles and crayfish.
2. The band has fiddles, guitars, drums, other instruments. It plays songs to dance to, songs to drink beer and pound on the tables with the steins. People join and drop out as the party shifts. The stage is right next to the dancefloor, and the sweating musicians go until about midnight, final song being "The Parting Glass".
3. The mist off the lake writhes as it rises. Birds call. The solemn judges wait as we complete the ritual. Movement flows into movement, all in the moment. Falling into the lake after the hours of working out is bliss.
4. Together, using block and tackle and rope, the crew raises the third deck on the structure. The rope monkeys swarm up the structure with their tails of hemp, and the dustcrew pulls the supplies up with a stamping chant. We started early, and at the end of the day, we'll be done. After we have all admired it, tomorrow night we will burn it, and cook on the coals.
5. The port is passed to the left, while the cheeses, grapes, figs and nuts go to the right. Conversation has slowed, although it is still refined and witty. Chris is humming a song, and Mac is gesturing his ideas in the air. Some ideas have been refined, some plans made.
How many my dreams, how many stolen, how many inspired? Is the garden from Filoli, is the lake from my knighting, is the structure the clock at Burning Man? Did Crystal cook the dinner, and Matt select the port? Was that party in Palo Alto?

All this and more. Plenty more to come!
