Randomness!
Called the insurer this morning, the agent noted that I had insurance for this particular difficulty, and thanks for filing the report, and they'd let me know what happened after the fact. The hulking profit making bureaucracy (the rulership by burea or filing cabinet) is if not on my side at least engaged in my favor. Kafka we are not! I need not be a cockroach.
Garden: At K's Campbell acreage, started the compost pile (hole, weeds, leaves, good mix), turned over the ground and put in 4x6 of fava beans, 2 rows of red onions, and a row of red carrots. L planted lettuce, arugula, some other green(chard?), artichokes, and herbs in pots. We discussed the front garden area; it needs to be nice and yet move slowly, so I will pull the pin oaks that have seeded there, and keep raking things up. L will plant some tulips and we'll go from there.
GardenProjTurtle: Inverse raised bed; construct a 2' wall so the turtles can't climb out, and plant a turtle habitat, with herbs, a leaf dump with at least 6" of leaves, a tree, rocky area, and a turtle wading pool. Several raised subbeds with ramps for squashes, carrots, simple tough foods turtles might eat. Optional would be a hot rock, and also optional a barrier to separate the area so the turtles are not always together.
5 random thoughts:
1. Now is the time to read "A night in Lonesome October" by Roger Zelazny. Need to find my copy.
2. For some reason, I am totally unexcited by Halloween this year.
3. Some of the crankyness may be blood pressure rising; I'll have to check.
4. I'm craving fondue.
5. Guy Fawkes day is coming!
