I have a PLN.
Now I just need to know what to do. There really is, written on a piece of paper next to this computer, PLN. If it's good enough for Rob Anybody, it's good enough for me.
I also have a bowl of very tasty bean dip I just made, with tortilla chips, which I am munching on. It's easy to know what to do with a bowl of bean dip (and homemade bean dip is surprisingly tasty, fresh and inexpensive. On Thursday, I attempt mayo for the Brussel Sprouts!) (NB: Derek's fondue method, of freezing then grinding the cheese using a cuisinart, so the fondue cheese is all particles, is excellent). I don't know what do do with my PLN.
For 5 years or so, I haven't know what to do with the PLN. That's not good at all. I keep moving one direction, then things happen, and I don't keep going.
So, here's the first set of goals:
1. Get back to teaching martial arts and dance, which means
1b Get in shape and
1c Get back into martial arts: fighting, aikido.
So 1bi put together a workout regimen with
1bii An Egoscue joint saving portion in it and
1biii Body for Life training while
1biv tracking food (dieting).
Inspiration for this is Cathyn and Jeannie. Instruction can be from many places, but I value Laina and hope Andrew can help, as well as Paul.
2. Get finances in order
2a Pay off last of hospital bills
2b with some new income source: work.
....and I'll go digest the individual steps for a bit.
There. That's at least half an "L". It's a good start.

It's surprising.

Date: 2010-01-06 08:05 pm (UTC)I have noticed that you are very good at prioritizing yourself last when there are things you could be doing for other people. And, while that makes you a generous friend, it makes it harder for you to do things for yourself.
Also, all of your goals except 2a and 2b are too amorphous. It's hard to see your progress when you don't know what you are working towards. For instance, what, exactly, does "getting in shape" mean to you? Being more fit? Losing weight? May I suggest a restatement?
1a dance one day per week for 3 months; review commitments and progress at that point
1bi set a 15-20 minute daily workout to complement Egoscue training; do training for 3 months then review for changes (move to 1 hour 4 days/week or whatever)
1bii meet with Paul to get a new Egoscue regimen; do Egoscue 5-7 days per week for a month; recheck with Paul
1biv track food for a month; review for tool efficacy and self honesty, posibly continue for another month (and another month, etc.)
1bv (this is something I got from compassstarlady) lose 5 lbs in two months; then lose another 5 lbs and so on
2 track spending for a month (or 2 or 3) to get spending data; create a budget using spending data; check against income and expenses
Hugs!
