West Kingdom Fears

It's easy to look and see machinations; easy to listen and hear fear. The past teaches us that some are clumsy in some things, and stupidity does happen. But will it take away your birthday, or hurt your honor? Only if you are involved.

Remember, honor is you holding to your values, virtues and word. Reputation is what other people think of you. If your honor is good, and theirs bad, what problem?

For me, I'm looking forward to doing some small fun things, like the PPF, and singing at October Crown, probably coronet as well.

Singing at October Crown? I'll be singing at October Crown! ::claps, gleefully::

Any pieces you'd like to hear?

Or sing together? We can do a little work.

I don't know your repertoire, or I'd make requests. :)

I expect that I'll be kidnapped by the Treble Makers. We had a great time at the War just singing stuff with all sorts of people. I don't have an outlet for that sort of thing, up here, alas.

Kidnapped by the Treblemakers?

That's like running away to join the Pirate Circus as a Ninja Aerealist! The Bestest thing EVAH!

Ok, then, what do you want to drink? That I can do!

Sympathies on the occasion of your kingdom's drama. This too, shall pass.

Unless

it's a culture shift, or a sign of a culture shift, and that's the problem.

If our culture can shift, I choose to believe we can shift it back. :)

One good thing about being old an out of touch,
I don't even know what most of the drama is all about.

assuming we can get our act together for Crown, I would love it if you would come sing for and with us!!

We can make that happen.

[identity profile] learnteach.livejournal.com 2010-08-31 05:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Any requests?

fun stuff! I'm inviting people to tell me what they've been missing, and I'll try to make sure we've got the words... so, what are YOU missing from the good old days?

[identity profile] mamapduck.livejournal.com 2010-08-31 05:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I've been kicking myself for missing the last PPF... and now I suspect I have to miss this one too. [pout] Cannot leave the baby for that long and cannot travel her to that sort of event without a fair amount of glaringly modern stuff... which seems like a sucky thing to do to other people's ambiance.

What about the PPF most interests you?

[identity profile] learnteach.livejournal.com 2010-08-31 05:56 pm (UTC)(link)
A lot of the experience can be exported, in a smaller way.

Unfortunately the part I find most intriguing is the part hardest to replicate small scale- the communal nature of the activity. In addition to all the work done by those putting on the PPF, there's the aspect of performance- a suspension of modernity- by a largeish collective. That's what I'd most like to experience and at the moment what I'd be most likely to derail.

Hopefully these will continue to be successful and popular and will become a staple of the calendar for years to come. :)
