learnteachCame up to the Pacific Northwest to help Jeannie move, easiest move ever, 8 hours from truck rental to unload finished, no boxes needed to have things put in them, oh yeah snacks too. There were a couple people I wanted to meet up with in Seattle; didn't have time to contact a lot of people (original plan was to leave this morning) but certainly wanted Jackie and Jeannie to meet, they'd get along.
Sent email to every address I had for Jackie; it's been a while, but I have gotten email from her a couple times this year, had an email conversation with her last year. Thought she may be having some rough times based on earlier conversations.
Right/wrong. Wrong base, right conclusion. Got a facebook message.
Her second wake, that she had planned to be at, is next weekend near Bellingham. She died last weekend. I'll be there for the wake. RIP Jackie Barrette nee Babcock, SCA Baroness Mahala de Sorbonne of the Kabilla (msp.), scientist, rider, Tablero Champion, friend.
Drats.
Back down on the 11th, got a sub gig then. And...for all the problems, I was findable through facebook by someone who only knew my name, and that I was friends with Jackie. So, that's a kindness that will keep me on facebook.
