Ranty again!
1. For the student who really, really had to push the boundrary all the way to physical contact, for returning to the room twice, so other classes could see me being sarcastic and unmoving, thus inspiring them to behave and get in the line of fire.
2. For both political parties; the Republicans bombard me with lies, the Democrats with pleas for money, and this fuels the great sarcasm. I love the intellectual energy it gives me to ask questions like "WHAT ARE YOU SMOKING, TEA?" and "WHERE'S THE MONEY?"
3. For the requirement for a credential that will cost 17K, because, dear reader who asked, the only way to get one right now is with a Master's. All other programs are impacted ie underfunded and not taking new students for at least a year. I'm feeling much more inspired to get an engineering job!
4. For the parents of the special snowflake who can't see how they are enabling failure by being manipulated by a 14 year old. And for telling me that I just don't understand how hard homework I assign is to complete. Hmmm, the rest of the class seems to manage (well, 50%, but that's what I was shooting for with that assignment.) Hey, if I am that incompetent to cause him to fail, perhaps I shouldn't be a teacher, see #3. Thanks for the pointers!
5. Back to politics: For the Republicorp promises that Obamacare will put America in so much debt that our children will become beggars, which shows up on my LJ as an add 40% of the time. This, after massive tax cuts and military adventurism, while pushing further massive tax cuts and (gasp) adventurism? While your funding moves through uncontrolled channels? And for being the party of Reagan, Bush I, Bush II, McCain and Palin, and Schwartzenegger--now that Ahnold has failed in Sacromento, they want to send Meg, a disaster in ethics? Hey Arnold, how's that being a newby in government thing working out?
5.5 For the concept of protecting these tax cuts, because immigrants use too many illegal services...Meg wants to repeal capitol gains, for a 5 billion/year hit. Hey immigrants, how many of you could go to college on that? http://www.megwhitman.com/platform_topic.php?type=jobs&page=1
Oh, by the way, dropping taxes doesn't increase job creation. It increases profits, as Meg proved at Ebay. Oh, and having a charitable foundation you run with 46 million in assets and donations out of 125 thousand? Um, that's less than .25 percent given out...your admin and endowment take a little much.
OTOH, I like her stand on the rail, abortion, and domestic help.

P.S. My school is looking for a temporary Facilities Manager, if you're interested in a bit of work with kids who are well behaved.
