1. Worked HHH (Havek's Haunted House, formerly the Beck Scare'um) and really enjoyed the interaction with people, both the crew of the house and the customers.   There were a couple changes this year that worked really well; the entry path was longer, so less out front crowd control was needed; there was a Scary Alley for people (children) who didn't want the full scare but still wanted scary things, and there was a place for donations to the food bank--and all went very well.

2. Made a Snapping Pumpkin ala EvilMadScience which broke while at work.  Learned many interesting things.  Very fun project.

3. Work is very different, I am having some trouble adapting.  We'll see how it is long term.   There's not enough work this week, and my old (not my problem) department is struggling, but very quietly.

4. Diet is going well.  Some major adjustements--sleep, party avoidance, more exercise needed.  But weight is being lost, and I am not feeling bad.

5. Need to figure out socialness better.  In some ways, a diet this major is like being ill, in what actions you are restricted from.

All in all, good.

Bonus:  6.  Having lots of deep thoughts.  Luckily, have good shoes.

7. Not only is a new Pratchett novel coming, and a new Etiquette and Espionage, but Ursula Vernon just published a lovely piece!

5 - it can be somewhat isolating. I'm struggling with that myself right now. OTOH you have friends who are going through the same thing and probably are feeling a little left out of the old social eating situations as well. Perhaps something both social and supportive could be arranged?

Yes.

Let's set some walks up, and such. The funniest thing for me is how supportive, but not thoughtful, people are...they want to help but forget about eating Doritos in front of me...still, the diet works well when you do it!

Have you seen the Zombies Run application?

Do you have any good pudding recipies?

I will see you and Cathyn at the ball, thermos of blood (vanilla shake dyed red) in hand...actually, thinking about it, the shakes are a great consistency for that...

Yes - walks! Yes, I know a few pudding recipes - but mostly I've just use the ones in the book (they gave you the recipe book, right?). I like vanilla with some pistachio pudding. :-)
Oh excellent! I'm happy to hear you'll be there! We'll talk more tomorrow!

Walks are a good thing. I know many interesting walks on flat dirt roads with birds and other critters to see. It'd be great to see you again.

If you want to come watch sea otters and stuff or play with strange boys we can certainly not have food involved in any way and can do some cool activities.

I am ALL about walking--and I don't snack before, during or after doing it. Come walk in the redwoods with me!

WOOT!!!
