ATW
ATW==After The Wedding. They're officially recognized as married. The families are satisfied. The friends worked butts off. The party was grand. 125 people, including a full and relatively happy kids room, a bar run by volunteers, more dance music than we could use, and strange things of all kinds.
I'm still processing it, but it was a grand party. Onward!
So, some of the realizations:
1. I'm in an elevated state of generalized worrying. WTF? I've been here for years. I used to be much more relaxed. (At least, I think I must of been. I stressed, but not reacted so harriedly.)
2. ...the generalized worrying (or coyote blue) comes from/to/with a negative outlook on things. Time to change that.
3. The presence of a wedding is a big enough emotional/spiritual/psychological weight on the attendees that things are re-examined and changed.
4. (Thanks, Tugrik) I really enjoy geeking about things, and have been hiding it to fit in a sales organization. It's honestly a passion.
5. ZZTop was right--every girl's crazy 'bout a sharp dressed man. Wedding and waltzing in the 1870's tailcoat, vest, cravat; reception switched to swing time (late 30's, actually) and the zoot suit. Women were actually trying to drag me away from other women! ! No, not too badly, but really!
and....6. If you're fixated on something, it's more sense to go towards it than run away. Physics in action; the leash of mental gravity is very hard to break.
Back on the diet. Back on the bike. Back to work!
