learnteachThe Moon is riding low now, a crescent in the sky, the eternal ship promising return that never arrives, the companion on every road, the inspiration for poets and darkness, carrier of kisses, promises, and witness to deeds noble but more often desperate.
Below the Moon move the Wind, changing things for the nature of the wind is to ruffle, to move, to shift, to blow loud or soft, to bring or take away clouds, to bring rain (but not enough, not enough, too much) and it moves over the Water (not in this story, but always in every story, as is the Earth and the Air and the Fire and the Void) and it makes Ripples.
Each day is Ripples--what happens, and the ripple of how you think of it. The Ripple of joy at a smile, the Ripple of sadness at a fear, the Ripples of contact. These are only Ripples, moved by the Wind, the emotions, the moments. They are the bulk of every day, the waves we ride and fight, the moements we live in, the patterns in currents we follow.
Ripples become Currents in the Depths, and in the Depths are the the Deep Things and the Trapped Light and the Emotional Klathrates and sometimes the Beautiful Anglerfish and lost Atlantis (which wants to stay lost, thank you, get off our sea long you younger races) Some of the Currents are from life and past heritage, some from Modern Culture, some from peer groups and those you whole D valuable. In the Depths are the things you haven't examined, below the Ripples that are your everyday life, driving to hear, responding to there, sometimes the Depths can be seen but most often it's the Ripples changed by the Currents changed by the Depths.
At the Bottom of it all are the things that are too big to take in easily and are always there and never seen, although the RIpples reflect them. Life and Death, Male and Female, Growing and Dying, Moving and Staying. In poetry, Sex and Death.
So...don't sweat the Ripples. Don't fear the Depths. Know we all have those things at the Bottom. Know everyone has the Depths. Let the Currents flow, and move with the Ripples, and set your course by the Stars, not the Moon...
