Moment of Free Fall.

What to do?

So...I'm on vacation. No, really, actually, I'm on phase out of this job. I've been noticing that many people at this company last for many, many years. I'm sure I would have if it hadn't been for some management perception.

Right now, I feel unfocused. I want to crawl back into a job so I don't have to self-direct. There's a huge bunch of stuff I could do, and if I relax and think about it, an even larger set. All I need to do is pick one direction and go...

Pick. Choose. Agree on one option set, THUS REFUSING ANOTHER.

Gonna go think about this...after the three days off.

Enjoy your vacation! But don't be the horse that starved to death between two bales of hay, because he couldn't decide which one to eat.

So many choices. You're life is full of things that you would like to do... Picking would be hard for me to imagine! Projects, friends, road trips... Safety of a job? Good luck getting the basics to take care of themselves. ^_^

I totally understand feeling unfocused, and the safety-warm & fuzzy feeling of having something there to keep you occupied... been there, done that.

Be brainless... do things you want to do to have fun...

BTW, by choosing one option set, doesn't necessarily mean that you completely negate the others options... it might mean that they sit on the back burner for a lil while.

Some times call for decisive action... other times call for brainless inaction. As your friends were telling ya, don't dwell on it for too long, just go and "do"...

later!

Anger, Movies, Balls

Don't forget that you are probably carrying around enough anger to sink a small island. Leaving a company when have been there too long often leaves a rim of bile in your mouth that needs to be excised. Until you dump some of it, you may find that you are constantly getting into arguments, gritting teeth, being convinced everyone is a jerk, etc. Might I suggest two simplistic things: go watch a couple stupid movies on a big screen and pound some softballs. The movies should be the type with more deaths than words and the softballs should be at a slow pitch batting range (like Malibu). I know you play sports resembling small wars, but there is a purity of inflicting violence on small, easy, relaxing balls that smush just a bit as you club them.

It is worth a few hours to see if I'm right.
