Jumble O' THoughts, Weekend

It's interesting how the world shapes. Several things have re-entered my life, for good or bad...old friends, sinus infections, the blasted sensation of waiting.

It's also interesting to realize that this tool--LiveJournal--is for me more of a social commentary than a journal (in the sense of food or money journal) or diary. And it feels like the people who'se journals I read have told me things in conversation--yet, we haven't sat and conversed. In some ways I feel closer for knowing your thoughts, but only the ones presented here...

Got all the papers related to land solved. Now I'm trying to find the papers related to work, which haven't been dealt out...and thinking a lot. How to spend my time? Eating out less, and entertaining more at home. Dancing more. Working out much more. Writing more. Motorcycling more...there's hardly enough time, unless I go out Motorcycle dancing at home while cooking on the engine for your entertainment.

Excelsior!

I use my journal more as a "here's what's up" sort of thing... I don't actually have much contact with too many people on LJ outside of this medium. AIM and Yahoo! help for more day to day discussions as well... And I like that I can follow up with what's happening with people and not losing touch with them. Granted the other solution would be to spend more time actually seeing them... But time is limited, and text space, rarely. (YOu can make more then one post if you have to.)

Hope the rest of the event was fun for you. ^_^

More Dancing?

Well, I happen to know of one dance where your presence would be most appreciated.

This isn't a hint. Hints are subtle.

yeah - I was bummed - I was hoping you'd come to Gulf Wars.

I started on LJ simply because I didn't have the time or energy to give all my friends updates on my life. One prime example is the work drama: after going over it two or three times verbally (and the emotional reverberations with just remembering the events) I'm in no mood to repeat it again.

Sometimes, when I have the time, I write more for the sheer joy of writing. The PantheaCon/Western Vet Conference posting was like that. I was alone, bored, and had nothing better to do than write. When I was a teenager I posted "Journal entries" on a BBS and they were, for the most part, stream-of-consciousness ramblings on a number of teenage angst items. Not sure if I'm just short on time, not willing to get up at 4am to let the creative juices flow, or if the angst itself was a spur to the writing. Perhaps I'm just too well-adjusted to write anything in depth. ;-)

LJ as conversational outlet/social connection

Yeah, I'm deeply entusiatic about LJ as a way of keeping up with people I care about, even when I am too exhausted or busy to see them, which is, unfortunately, most of the time these days. It has been great to get the moral support that I need, too, and to help keep me from feeling completely isolated. Yay! for community connections! (I like seeing people in person, better, though. Hopefully once the school fu is over...and maybe over summer break!)

Burritos & Quesadillas are absolutely fabulous on old Flathead-4s and inline 6's found on most Jeeps. Make sure ya double wrap them in foil so they don't pickup any gas flavor.

Breakfast muffins (filled with salami, cheese, etc) are doable on Dodge 5.9L engines (esp when campfires are prohibited) but honestly are easier thrown into the campfire coals.

I wonder how the Ford 5.8L will work?? hmnnn.... =)

Is it easier to cook on the motorcycle engine if you drop it out of the frame? Hm.

Let me know if you are interested in bicycling some time. I've just started back up after a hiatus of some months, so I am working on lengthening rides.
