Thank you.
The biggest goal will be to get back into a healthy regimen, and lose a lot of the weight that is bothering me. Already my energy is up (thanks to sleeping fully, I imagine) but it's hard to remember what I'm supposed to be doing--although things to do always appear, and looking around me, I see many things that need to be done.
"Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way
Tired of lying in the sunshine, staying home to watch the rain
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find, ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
And you run and you run to catch up with the sun,
but it's sinking
And racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death
Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to nought,
or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone the song is over,
Thought I'd something more to say"
Thanks, Pat and Cynthia, Andrew and Laura, et all... Next big thing is to ride to Kitimat, BC at the end of the month; then I'll either ride on to Alaska or back to Vancouver. After that, I'm aiming for Europe, I think.

Date: 2004-04-07 09:35 am (UTC)By underwater scooter, I take it you mean the following:
From a reacreational point-of-view, the drawback of the scooter over the Scubadoo is that you need to be a certified diver to use it. It is possible to go on a Scubadoo tour without being SCUBA certified.
Also, if you are hanging out around a wall or around schools of fish, you'll find plenty of fascinating things to look at in a Scubadoo.
The biggest drawback is safety, in my opinion. What happens if something goes wrong with your air supply? What if you panic, but ou are attached to all that machinery? That information was left all very vague at that trade show.

Date: 2004-04-07 05:38 pm (UTC)Every so often, divers at Point Lobos who use scooters attract Great White Sharks, often with less than optimal results. I think I'll stick to fins....at least around Carmel. (:
