Beach!

Went to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk yesterday.
Two teenagers (13/14) (female), Mom for them, and me. We rode rides, laid on the beach, flew a kite, and I read a book.

It was nice, but boring. I can lay around for about an hour before the urge to do something gets too strong. Write poetry in the sand, and note that after the wave rolls over it there's an echo of the words in charcoal on the gold sand. Dig for sand crabs. Jump up and down. Good Lord, am I secretly a 7 year old? I hope so. Should have brought the boat, a bunch of male teenagers to play frisbee with, swimming gear, an instruction manual on the haka (is there such a thing?) (oy, a thousand All Black webpages loom).

But it means that indolent lounging at home isn't going to last, either. Sigh. (Not really).

What, the games don't provide enough incentive? Never! Oh, though swimming would have been fun. (Maybe I should keep a swimsuit in my car from now on?) Though, I'd have to say watching those nifty waves that were unpredictable was fun... The little kids on the beach were awesome to watch. I haven't been to the beach since then... Mayhaps I should change that...

As for you secretly being a 7 year old? I don't doubt that in the least. You're silly, fun, love playing around with things.... Hm. Go figure. ^_^ Maybe you should have/go to a beach party! (Too much work to put together? Don't know. Never tried, but hey, it's a thought.)

In Santa Cruz?

Next time you are in Santa Cruz you will have to drop April and I a line. We live right downtown and it would be great to do lunch/dinner or something!
