What sort of birthday party should I have? Tea, and dress for it? Take over the cool sunnyvale park with bubbles, squirt guns, frisbees and boffers? Have a nice ride to capitola on twisty roads? Take over a hottub? Dance? They all sound good to me. What do other people think?

It's your party

Well, if it's on your birthday (according to user info) I'll be doing Christopher stuff in the morning and early afternoon, but it all sounds fun.

It's not all mutually exclusive, either.

Start by figuring out how many of which people you want to see, then go from there. And if I don't see you then, have a great day!

Just spoke with Kat; if you want a place for a smallish dinner and dancing, our house is available. Let us know.

Any and all of the above sound like fun, and many are not mutually exclusive. I'm rather fond of the visual of high tea followed by bubbles in the park, but that's just me :)

Ride/tea/dance/hottub depend upon how many and who you want to be involved (more limited #'s and/or not everyone is able to do all of those things). Park allows more to play, but is more open-ended, which you might not want.

As Raf said...it really depends upon what else you want from your party.

It's your party, you can do it all! We'd be entertained to join you for the parts that are baby-friendly (not the hot tub or high tea, I'd guess). If you want to borrow a space for dinner (and potentially dancing) ours should be a possibility.

Who says you just have to have one party?

You should take the twisty road ride anyway, but that shouldn't be your whole b-day. Tea would be fun to do and you have lots of friends who would relish the chance to contribute petit fours and scones, but probably not in depth enough for all the birthday you will want to have either. You've done the frisbee/squirt guns/park thing before, and apparently you had a good enough time to repeat it. Hottub would be yummy - I plan to have some of that at my party. Hopefully we can coordinate dates so we don't conflict. Unless you want your party to travel to my place or have a joint party which would be really fun. Of course the more weekends with parties the better! You have such great parties at your place, but since you are hosting you don't relax much. Dancing is definately good but you need to have a volunteer music nazi so you don't have to worry about it. You should have a chance to relax at your party! I'll volunteer to help plan or coordinate.

Availability of Doghaus...

If you want to do BBQ and hot tub let me know -- I should have the hot tub back on line by then, and I won't be working that weekend.
