Update from her letter to her constituents regarding the recent "Distract America--Look! The winged gays of Samothrace!" bullshit:

What is really going on here – the real motive here – is crass,
cold, hard politics. This is being done to distract attention
from the real issues facing this country. This constitutional
amendment is being used as a weapon of mass distraction. And
this constitutional amendment is being used as a tool for the
upcoming political campaigns. Shame on us.

Nice, but...
But what I'm not hearing from anyone but Representative Lofgren, is unconditional support for gay marriage. Yes, this is a distraction; it worked. But the core of this distraction was an appeal to bigotry, and I don't see that being taken on in terms that are near to being strong enough.
