Paris with Mom

Beautiful city, couldn't ask for better weather.

Slightly aggravated at M's little old lady habits, well, what did I expect? Have mainly spent time on her requests/desires, not because she's not listening to mine but because mine are more difficult. Lit a candle at Notre Dame for Mary; the place is grandiose and huge but doesn't feel like a church. Walked all around the bastille.

Still no Pratchett. Somewhere in this city is the book I want...and I won't get it until London in over a week. Bastads!

Feet really hurting; injured the toe of the left foot (cuticle) and just been walking a bunch.

Sailing at the Louvre, and the hidden gold, and ducks...ah.

Try the Saint Vincennes cathedral if you get a chance! Wonderful high Gothic, even if it's out on the periphery.

Sounds like a good trip overall.... and Pratchett is all over the place here in LOndon.

If you have time, about an hour out of Paris is Chartres. The cathedral there was built over such a long period of time that its architecture encompasses high gothic to romanesque styles. The artwork inside is tremendous, especially the main alter. It is also a cathedral famous for pilgramages and his the place that C and I first encountered the ghost of Chartres.

All of this still sounds like such fun. ^_^ Hopefully toe-fu will make itself less of a pain... (tofu?) But in all, everything as it is, are you still enjoying yourself?
