Dear Mr. President:

I would like to congratulate you on your victory in the 2004 presidential election. As an unemployed computer engineer currently living in California, with two brothers who served in the Armed Forces (and one who was in Iraq during Desert Storm) I hope and pray you will be able to engineer stability in both Iraq and Afghanistan, so that our armed forces may return home. I also hope that you can continue to send responsible men to the Middle East, to help in this time of transition in the Palestinian leadership.
In response to some of your comments, I don’t believe that we need every American to have broadband. I believe we need every American to have a better education and a chance to not pay so much to pharmaceutical companies, most of which are multinational conglomerates. I believe that the nation is aging, and needs less flashy cars and more good doctors.
To get industry going again, I believe it should be easy for PhD students from Asia and Europe to enter the country.
Mr. President, you show yourself to be a man of faith, and strength. Have the strength to include the 48% of Americans who did not vote for you and the faith that you can bring America together and achieve great things that are not based on destruction.

Very nice indeed!

I think that you'll find -- over time -- that things will work out fine.
Even now there are checks and balances that the president must heed.

Really.

I'm not sure about the broadband. I think that history will show that the 'net had a huge impact on this election. Take particular note of how well Drudgereport exposed media bias and mistakes; this is just getting started.

Damn nice letter!
