I'm happy.

Taught today, mix of English classes.

It makes me happy. Laughing when I walk out of the school, dancing in front of the classes, a show every hour and inquisitive minds asking me questions. "What are you going to be for Halloween, Mr. Schmidt?" "Large." "Are you married, Mr. Schmidt?" "Is that a proposal? "

If only it paid enough to live on...but, I get to do it now.

Coooooooool.

I'm sorry to hear that. I am not a teacher, but I work for a school district. The teachers I work with are doing ok. Some work some kind of job during the summer. My college friend I metioned above does not work over the summer, but does do a little coaching. He doesn't live a super opulent lifestyle, but it's a pretty good one.

My only point was that it is possible. I think it's hard enough to get and keep good teachers. I think J would make a great teacher and if a little encouragement leads to him figuring out how to make it work, everyone (kids, J, the community) wins.

I agree that J would make a great teacher. My comment only was that teaching in Gilroy, with one income coming in, we were having trouble keeping our proverbial heads above proverbial water. But don't think for a second that money drove me out of teaching. :)
