Wordz!

To those who saw my earlier post; Sorry, had to vent. Got some coffee and lunch and got the lobes leaping not lurking and greeted the wildchild when he came through the door, surprising him. Then referred another student to him for an answer on the homework, and he was more interested in the class than anything else.

Still, there's a lot of babysitting. If I could figure out how to engage these kids...I'd be paid more? Nope. But I still find it fun.

Early poll results discouraging. If the proposition passes regarding teaching, I'm not even going to apply to any more schools. It's going to screw the profession entirely.

Went to a SoBaWriMo write in; wow. Laptop failed to work and I still wrote about 1000 words. A 16 year old across from me broke the 25K mark, but having your various characters sing the alphabet song...well, not for me.

Wordcount updated tomorrow after I type it all in.

Thanks! Having it now in my hot little hands, I find it depressing, and not much fun. He's an "education assistant" and struggles more with poverty and want than the kids, or so the first reading seems.

Uh...how?

How can singing the alphabet song take 25,000 words? What is he, Tom Clancy Jr.?

No, she's good at inflating word count. "A B C D E F G, H I J K PLOT NINJA AAARGH!" is 14 words by count..and a lot less typing.

Missed the earliest post. On the upside, all propositions were defeated, and by reasonably large margins too. Yay... except for the millions spent on this crap. I'm not pleased with our governator.

I had some success by telling the wild children that their teachers told me they were smart.
