Alls well that end's well...tomorrow.
First, thanks to
shuttergeek for the ride to Road Rider to get the tires on the wheels and the help washing them. Thanks also to
norsebiker and
tugrik for answering stupid questions. Yes, I did get it mostly back together. (Need to put the left mirror on, check the brakes, and figure out what's going on with the stands. Rather than spend $100 on bike lifts or jacks, I spent $26 on ratchet tie downs and eyebolts (labeled "Not for bearing loads or humans") which I then used to pick the bike back up. Slowly. Learning as I went. Back wheel then front (left? Right? huh? wait, this is not like the video...duh, this is a Beemer, they're DIFFRENT.) Got it assembled, need to test it and put all the tools away.
So, new tires, but will need to fix the brake system. I think I'll pay the pros to do that.
And that was pretty much the day. Missed Fezzi's rehearsal, but hey, no way to get there...and I need the bike running. Now to finish up, clean up, and throw out half the garage.
Toodles!

Date: 2008-09-22 05:38 am (UTC)Wish you had left a messege that you needed some help. Wasn't doing anything important (World of Warcraft).
And, FYI, I am like your brother (not the know-it-all, the all-over-the-globe one), you can call anytime for help. And if I don't answer, leave a messege. I will call back.
(this sounded important enough in my books)
Happy to hear that you are almost back on the road.

It was a stupid question;
Date: 2008-09-22 06:04 am (UTC)Put mirror on. Test bike. In morning, in sun.
Thanks for the help offer! I'll bring it in for the brakes at...some point!

Date: 2008-09-22 05:56 pm (UTC)I once hung my bike up from the rafters. That's when I was getting the pros to do my suspension (I took the suspension bits out and took them to Aftershocks). Not a BMW fer sure (That'll come later).
Good luck with the brakes!
