unexpected; what recommendations for things to do? Planning to hit the gym every day, work on friends house every day, go to memorial next Saturday, then drive like a fiend to San Jose on Sunday, work on Monday. Arboretum? Rose Garden? Historical Tours? Any killer music?

Perhaps just see people I didn't expect to see?

The downtown area by the harbor is a lot of fun. It has a cool shopping area with some interesting stores. You could also catch the ferry to Vancouver and have tea, though you probably need your passport for that.
