It was ...interesting. Too much drama that I got sucked into. Too many physical problems that I wouldn't want to have. Too much hype. Completely unexpected bonuses and insights...
Too much drama: Tug's other friends showed up Wednesday, and proceeded to be Happy the Raver Child and Sulky the Ditched, Who left MOOP. Since I had already claimed the Mr. Grouchy hat due to the physical problems, and since every time I left camp it got trashed, this meant that I got more and more pissed at Sulky, who had problems of her own, and had never agreed to go in on "big infrastructure" (my words, not hers.) It was darkly humorous to hear her bitching about how little Happy helped her (Happy did pick up around camp) and also about the event: Too cold, too hot, too dusty, too big...
Physical stuff: Started the week with a cold, which I out slept. But sleeping in the truck fouled up my back, and the sciatica acted up, which makes walking very painful. Stretching helped some, but couldn't really lay down on the carpets because of the Moop.
Too much infrastructure: This gets its own post. But if I'm the one always cleaning and doing dishes, and someone elses loses a piece of clothing a day into the evap pond, it's somewhat strange.
Hype: The burning of the Man is hyped. The Thunderdome is hyped. Both were interesting, but I'll take my pyromania in smaller crowds, and after watching Thunderdome fighting, I can see why my friends wanted to see what happened if you put SCA fighters in there. We would scare people.
Insights: Later....after sleep.
Home again, burn again, jiggety jig.
If I did a beach burn in February, using dried Christmas trees, would you make Art to burn, or bring food, or do infrastructure to make it happen?
