5 cool things enjoyed on the trip

1. The true comfort of calf high socks.
2. Bike locks in Denmark, mounted permanently on the rear fork of the wheel.
3. Amsterdam ship-built houses, and the lifting bars.
4. Danish window hardware, very nice.
5. Mexican Indian bead drawings.

They had bike locks like that in Japan, but I'm pretty sure they were on the front wheel. Which, considering even *I* could pull off a front wheel, wouldn't do all that much good. :->

Are you talking about the bike locks that have a little bar that comes out, making it impossible for the wheel to rotate? If that is the case, we had those in Germany and they only worked well as a deterent if one's bike was kind of old and ratty (as mine were). Otherwise, a cable or other type of lock was also employed to keep one's bike safe from theft.

When are you expecting to be home? I want to kayak!
