Everyone has their own reality.

I mentioned the thought of volunteering as an engineer in Latin America. Spend a year learning Spanish and teaching technology and setting up alt eng systems. Ride my motorcycle around Guatemala or one of those stories.

I'm apparently certifiably crazy for that idea. Who knew? Sounds pretty good to me...

City Lights Theater, San Jose. Anyone want to go see it with me?

Also, Igor. Anyone want to dress up as Mad Scientists to go see it?

Hey, how about the Rose of Persia? http://www.artsopolis.com/event/detail/38157

Need to practice more. But yeah, you can roast a jalapeno to ash, although I doubt the salsa will taste good with jalapeno ash in it...something for the Troll Mexican Food.

Is it wrong?* Do the dinoblogs have "I would be full in 1 m 55 s if I was chained to a bunkbed with a human."?

I would find it amusing to be chained to a bunkbed with most of the people who answered that meme.

That is all.

*Or creepy?

Well, shoot. Just removed the front tire, was trying to balance the bike forward to take off the rear, and the bike slipped. Centerstand split, right side folding up, left side bending out. Saved the bike with feet and back (not so much to injure, but some bruises. Thankfully, still pretty strong.) Propped it up.

EDIT: HA! Need better light. Wasn't the center stand; the sidestand is wonky instead, centerstand folded up. Was able to get the bike on a wood pad, and research things. Lesson: Don't let the brakes hang, tie them up. Lesson: Get a jack or table, or pay someone else to do the work. Or ask Tug to help, he's good at this sturf. Lesson: find the dang shop manual.

Down to 1 semi working vehicle. And a lot of adrenaline to go burn off. Too late to savage the pell; will go pull rear tire, stabilize bike in wood cradle, and curse mildly.

Ow. Yep, back not happy, luckily it's high in the shoulders, where I have a lot of muscle.
Frack.

Yea learning experience, right?

Learned: Conduit does not work as breaker bar (bends the conduit.) Waterline makes a great breaker bar, well, at least until the ratchet sheers... (shears?)
anyway, learning. tomorrow, find or if neccesary go buy a 17mm wrench. Time to get clued and organize the tools.

The recent hot spell is hard on rubber hoses, especially old ones. The kind that are on vehicles. The van is now leaking from all the heater hoses (105 in the valley) and the bike is leaking from the left front brake line. Time to replace a PILE of hoses; so that's what my weekend will look like.

Check your hoses. The van's were at least 10 years old, the bikes 8. That's great value and longevity, but now I need to fix vehicles quickly--certainly don't want to overheat the van and seize the engine, or lose brakes on the bike when I need them.

On a complete side note, two hours of dancing and dance teaching can raise a sweat, and, I've been given a better way to teach basic waltzing. Plus, these people I don't know I should get to know better--rollie's getting hitched, Aml seems involved (and is dressing, and is looking great), B is joyous over the economy because of the fun of buying for the fund (bargains everywhere), Seamus is in a cool looking Gilbert production.

Oh, Burn the Floor is coming to San Francisco. Oct 2nd. SLO oct 6th. GREAT band.

This is mainly to Brid.

With my current situation, I'm a giant flake; I may or may not make commitments. It bothers me and I'm sorry but I don't dare ride in a bad state, too dangerous. I apologize if I don't make a commitment, and it hurts me, but need to be aware of the situation more.

It'll be this way until things change. At the current estimation, there is no clear time when things will change.

Sorry.

Hey, guys!  I've got relatives coming into town.  They'll be taking the train to SF on Friday, and checking into a hotel.  Friday they'll see BBB (Beach Blanket Babylon) at the 6:30 show, and Saturday night Teatro Zanzinni.  Where should we go for snacks/light dinner before BBB, and if I take them to the farmer's market in the morning, where should they go before the theater?

Thanks!

Hmm.

Interesting.

http://alchemytoday.com/obamataxcut/

There's a lot of strange things about this election--very strange things. Information delayed, or missing. McCain's son in Iraq, out of the spotlight; backchannel email coming from churches about how Obama will stand with Muslims "when the time comes". This election may be won by the end of days...

Strange things.
